T-12:00 Hrs

With less than twelve hours to go we are gearing up for the midnight launch of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty in the US. As the clock ticks down there are a few things that can be done to prepare yourself for the gaming nirvana that is encroaching.First things first, get your computer ready. There are a few things you can do with your system to make sure you squeeze out every last framerate boost possible. Here is a list of everything you can do to get your computer ready:

  • Install the latest drivers (video card, sound card, etc.)
  • Clean up and remove programs that you don’t use that might be using unneccessary processes
  • Defrag your disks (Start -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Defragmenter)
  • Make sure your peripherals are working properly (mouse sensitivity, headset/mic settings, etc.)

Aside from prepping your computer, you should also load up on rations (namely your favorite snacks and drinks) because lets face it, you’re about to embark on the gaming marathon of all gaming marathons. If you plan on getting a digital copy of the game, don’t forget to start downloading it now (you can download the installer and run the install process at 1 pm EST tomorrow).
